The Stuff of 2011: The Dum Dum Girls' Cover of “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out”

Although many artists have done it, covering a song as well-loved as “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” by The Smiths is a risky move. But in the capable hands of the Dum Dum Girls, it gets a sped-up, amped-up treatment that, thanks to driving guitar lines and Dee Dee Penny's vocals, only reinforces the legendary track's greatness.
