We don't think it's a coincidence that when we asked Fevers' bassist/producer Jim Hopkins what his all-time, all-star supergroup would be, his answer included members of Cut Copy and LCD Soundsystem. Because right from the fuzzy opening moments of the Ottawa band's debut EP, Passion Is Dead, it's clear that Fevers are all about a modern, dance floor-friendly, electro-rock sound. One that we happen to be quite fond of.

How do you describe your music to someone who hasn't heard you before?
Indie-electronic - heart on your sleeve kind of stuff.
If you could play one venue you've never played before, what would it be?
I'd love to play Wembley (we're ambitious!) - I'm from the UK, so it'd be a dream.
Your all-time, all-star supergroup?
Dan Whitford (Cut Copy) on keys/synth, Robert Smith (The Cure) on vocals, Pat Mahoney (LCD Soundsystem) on drums, David Monks (Tokyo Police Club) on bass, Will Assaad (Sound Of Lions) on guitar, with Chris Zane producing. That would be an awesome record.
Let’s say you could pick one film director ever, living or dead, to reflect your musical style by directing a music video for you. Who would be best for it?
That's funny - we just finished shooting our first video! Tough one. I'd probably say Wes Anderson - he's kind of unconventional like us. I'm sure he'd do a wicked job.
If you could switch places with another musician in some type of "Freaky Friday" type incident, who would you want it to be?
Probably Greg Kurstin - he's not only in a great band (The Bird & The Bee), but he gets to work with some great artists on their stuff too. And oh the gear he probably has.....drool.
Say, for some strange reason, all the music in the world is going to be destroyed, but you can save all the songs from one decade. Which decade's records would you save?
I'm very much an 'in the present' type of music fan - so I'd have to say the decade just gone. Plus they probably re-released a bunch of classics in the past 10 years so I'd get them too, right?!
If you were going to be a roadie for one band, who would it be?
A band with a simple setup (i.e. not us!) - the less heavy-lifting the better!
What's the worst album you own?
I honestly have no idea - I rarely keep something I don't like. Probably some horrific Dance Megamix compilation from '93!
Who was your favourite band (or artist) when you were 12 years old? Do you still like them?
I think it was Weezer. The Blue Album was just coming out and "Buddy Holly" was everywhere (even on those Windows 95 discs!). I'm still on the fence about their recent stuff, but I love going back to that album and Pinkerton.
If you absolutely had to get a face tattoo of album art from one record, which record would you want to have on your face for the rest of your life?
Bear In Heaven - Beast Rest Forth Mouth. Having said that, I'd probably end up looking a bit emo.

When it comes to creating a great EP, following assignment writing guidelines for cookery may not be the first thing that comes to mind.
