CMW 2013: Cai.ro @ The Hoxton by Stephanie Cloutier

SATURDAY — Cai.ro is one busy band. They’ve toured non-stop for several weeks, playing important events such as the Folk Alliance Festival along with the electro-string genius, Dr. Draw. Luckily for those who missed their successful record release party — for their EP, Young Love — last month at the Horseshoe, the band's CMW set gave the uninitiated a taste of what everyone’s been talking about.

Cai.ro have been compared to Fleet Foxes — their music is haunting and atmospheric — but their sound is all their own. The orchestral pop group showed their greatness at the Hoxton, with songs like "Addict" and "Vampyre". Despite some technical glitches from the venue, the band performed their best to a large crowd — of new and loyal fans alike. The all-too-short set (just five songs!) left plenty of them wanting to hear more.
