THURSDAY — One of our very favourite parts of North By Northeast every year is the line-up of daytime shows in Trinity Bellwoods Park. They're organized by the Live In Bellwoods fellows with our little red friends over at the Young Lions Music Club. And this year, they've given it all a brand new name: The Great Heart Festival.
It kicked off on Thursday afternoon in the shade of those great old maples, with acoustic sets from Julie Doiron, Enjoy Your Pumas, The Belle Game and more. Round two starts today (Friday) at 2:15. And then two more days of music on Saturday and Sunday. (Facebook invite here.) It's all totally free and everyone is welcome. Just show up and look for the big crowd.
